A heavy Cedar shake is a shake 3/4" or thicker on the butt, and 24" long. We sell only 100% clear vertical grain, 100% old growth cedar. Heavy shakes will give you a beautiful rustic look, and when maintained correctly it should last 30 years on your home.

Medium shakes are a split shake running 1/2" and thicker on the butts. We carry only the top quality 100% old growth. This roof, maintained correctly, will last 20 to 25 years.

A Tapersawn cedar shake is sawn on both sides, graded 5/8" or thicker on the butt and 24" long. We only install 100% clear vertical grain and 100% old growth. This shake will give you a finished colonial look to create a unique and beautiful roof. This roof, maintained correctly, should last 25 to 30 years.
